Job Description:

We are currently looking for an Assistant Finance Controller to join our administration team in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC.

As an Assistant Finance Controller, you will report directly to the Director of finance and administration and participate in annual and monthly closings, preparing consolidated financial statements and management reports and are responsible for the accounting management of other entities within the company.

The main responsibilities of the position are:

  • Leading the month-end close process and the preparation of financial statements, summaries, and other cost-benefit analyses
  • Evaluate financial reporting systems, accounting procedures and investment activities and make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions to management
  • Provide the status of financial conditions by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Prepare monthly governmental sales tax returns
  • Support year-end corporate income tax filing
  • Support external audit process
  • Perform all other related duties and responsibilities as required
  • Supports budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions

Qualifications and experience desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related education and/or experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a financial accounting, assurance/audit, or a similar position
  • Bilingual (French & English)
  • Proficient in Office 365 – Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Excel
  • CPA or working towards (an asset)
  • Experience in an accounting firm (a strong asset)
