Job Description:

We are currently looking for an IT Specialist to join the IT team at our site in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC.

The main responsibilities of the position:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone, email or in person
  • Perform troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
  • Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
  • Ensures the smooth running of all IT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision
  • Schedules upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems
  • Ensures that data is secure from external attacks.
  • Evaluates user needs and system functionality.
  • Ensures that IT facilities meet the needs of individuals and projects;
  • Plans and executes upgrades to Epiq Machinery systems to ensure efficient performance of all IT assets
  • Help manages crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems
  • Evaluate and implement security strategies to prevent breaches and ensure that the company’s digital assets are secure.
  • Keeps up to date with the latest technologies

 Qualifications and experience:

  •  Proven experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, databases and remote control
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Proficiency in both English & French
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
  • BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field (or currently studying) or demonstrated experience and expertise in general IT Management in a manufacturing or similar enterprise.
  • Expertise in the following technologies:
  • Networking hardware and cabling
  • Server operating systems (Windows NT)
  • Internet protocols
  • Legacy systems (DOS, DBASEIII etc)
  • MRP/ERP Software expertise is an asset
  • Some programming knowledge is also an asset
  • Creative problem solver
  • Ability to work Under pressure
  • Organized with an ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision
