Mechanical Drafter/Designer – Saint-Bruno, QC


Under the supervision of your team leader, you will participate in the design of plans, specifications and details from guidelines to conceptualize high-end handling machines and systems for the pulp and paper industry and/or for the primary metal manufacturing industry.


In collaboration with the sales team and manufacturing workshop, you will be responsible for the following tasks:


  • Providing solutions (design) that take into account the set design criteria
  • Producing documents, drawings and/or material lists for the manufacturing and assembly of equipment
  • Ensuring the optimal cost and selection of materials and components, and manufacturing and assembly procedures
  • Meeting budgets and deadlines
  • Integrating equipment into our clients’ plants
  • Being occasionally available to travel to our clients’ facilities to take measurements and/or attend design reviews

Technical knowledge 

  • Command of basic computational tools, and 2D and 3D design and calculation software
  • SolidWorks

  • In-depth knowledge of static calculation, dynamies and strength of materials
  • Electric/pneumatic/hydraulic components



Degrees and qualifications

  • DEC or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is an asset

Five or more years
