Job Description:

At EPIQ Machinery, we challenge the boundaries between being a technology company and a heavy equipment manufacturer by continually integrating new technologies into our equipment. A North American leader in the heavy industry of the aluminum and pulp and paper sectors, our talents are all proud to design and manufacture equipment that is out of the box, innovative and recognized worldwide for its quality.

We are currently looking for a Painter to join the production team at our site in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC.

The main responsibilities of the position:

  •  Gather the parts to be blasted and paint them according to the priority list. Be sure to pick up parts with a green tag (which means the inspection is complete).
  • Before painting, visually inspect the parts to ensure:
  • Cleanliness of parts (no grease, no grit, no dust).
  • No apparent defects on the metal surfaces to be painted (holes, cavities, no weld spatter). If required, ask for repairs before painting.
  • Protect machined parts with masking tape.
  • Before painting project parts, consult the project’s paint specification sheet for the colors and thickness required by the customer.
  • Make the right paint mixes according to the paint manufacturers’ recommendations. Must be very precise. Mix the right amount of paint so as not to waste paint.
  • Gather parts of the same color to be more efficient.
  • Measure the thickness of the wet paint when applying with the proper tool.
  • Ensure that corners and edges of painted parts are well coated with paint.
  • Clean the guns and paint pumps according to the manufacturers’ recommendations (Kremlin and Graeco).
  • When transferring non-dry parts from the paint booth to racks or to the floor to complete the drying period, make sure that the exterior doors are closed to eliminate dust coming from the outside.

 Qualifications and experience:

  •  High school diploma
  • 3 to 5 years experience as a painter (2 component epoxy paint)
  • Spoken language: French and English would be an asset.
  • Be very meticulous and have a great concern for quality.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and accept last minute changes (requests).
  • Experience with the operation of overhead cranes and forklifts (competency card would be an asset).

What we offer:

  • RRSP matching and insurance.
  • The position is permanent, based on a 40 hour schedule over 4 days per week Monday through Thursday.
