EPIQ Machinery is pleased to announce that Santosh Kulkarni, Head of Sales & Marketing – India Region, and Rishabh Kaushik, Managing Director of NOVIMEQ Automation by EPIQ, will be presenting at the 14th International Bauxite, Alumina & Aluminium Conference & Exhibition (IBAAS 2026), taking place September 9–11, 2026, in Jharsuguda, India.

Their technical presentation, entitled “Evolution of Anode Slot Cutting Machines: From Mechanical Optimization to Intelligent Automation,” will highlight how Anode Slot Cutting Machines (ASCM) have evolved over more than two decades of industrial innovation and practical field experience.

Drawing on experience gained through more than 25 ASCM projects completed over the past 20 years, the presentation will explore how advances in mechanical design, automation and digital technologies have transformed anode slot cutting.

The presentation will examine how optimized slot pattern, including deeper and narrower slots enabled by climb milling technology, contributes to improved anode performance, reduced electrical resistance and enhanced energy efficiency throughout the electrolysis process. They will discuss how modern automation technologies, including predictive maintenance, real-time adaptive control, machine vision, and AI-enabled diagnostics, can improve equipment availability, slot quality consistency, and overall operational efficiency.

Finally, the authors will discuss how Digital Twin technologies and virtual commissioning are helping aluminium producers reduce project risks, accelerate production start-up and prepare their facilities for future upgrades while lowering lifecycle costs.
