We are looking for a candidate with solid experience in innovative machine design and the manufacturing of heavy-duty material handling systems. The ideal person has excellent knowledge of mechanical components, and experience with material handling equipment in the pulp and paper or primary metal processing industries is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design material handling equipment concepts for the pulp and paper and/or primary metal processing industries
- Provide design solutions that meet ADCL’s and/or our clients’ design criteria, budgets, and schedules
- Produce all necessary documents (drawings and bills of materials) for manufacturing and assembly
- Design equipment or systems to meet performance requirements while optimizing material costs, component selection, and fabrication/assembly processes to minimize labor needs
- Create equipment drawings and general arrangements using sketches and CAD software
- Select appropriate materials and mechanical components
- Perform stress analysis and other engineering calculations
- Always adhere to project budgets and timelines
- Occasionally supervise repairs, installations, and/or commissioning at client sites
- Occasionally visit client sites for measurements or design review meetings
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s or DEC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with experience in innovative machine design and the manufacturing of heavy-duty material handling systems
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical components
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Expertise in static, dynamic, and strength of materials calculations
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components is an asset
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and French (written and spoken) to support our English-speaking clients
- Organized, detail-oriented, and methodical
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit
