Key responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Service Director, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for technically guiding and directing the designs, modifications, and improvements of their assigned. They ensure that product specifications and designs meet the required objectives (technical features, performance, budget, quality, etc.).
Specifically you will:
- Participate in the development of proposals;
- Collaborate with the Parts and Services Director and the assigned Project Manager to determine all the needs and tasks required to carry out the project and perform detailed engineering planning;
- Respond to technical inquiries from clients;
- Coordinate and carry out improvements and technical modifications for projects under their responsibility;
- Serve as the technical contact for after-sales support, both for clients and internal departments (sales, service, project, production, etc.);
- Stamp drawings and diagrams for the manufacturing department;
- Review and approve drawings and technical documentation, for both design and product updates;
- Ensure consistency and compliance with ISO processes in product design activities;
- In collaboration with the electrical department, develop functional product descriptions and validate the final product outcome;
- Perform engineering calculations;
- Carry out any other related tasks as required.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- Minimum of five years’ experience in mechanical equipment design;
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles;
- Bilingual – French and English required;
- Strong communication skills in both written French and English;
- Excellent priority management skills;
- Experience in manufacturing/production (an asset).
